Teeth Update

I just have to provide a quick update on London's teeth. She had an accident a year ago where she pushed her two front teeth back and suffered double root fractures. She went to the ER and they cleaned up her mouth and said to see a dentist in a few days. Knowing time is everything, Justin demanded that she see a pediatric dentist that night. The ER could not get a hold of anyone. Fortunately, someone in the ER overheard the conversation and just so happened to have worked for a pediatric dentist several years ago. She called him on her cell phone and the dentist said that he would leave his dinner party and meet us in his office that night.

At 11:00 at night they repositioned her teeth and sewed them back in place. The dentist said it was a long shot since once the root fractures, blood supply is lost and usually the teeth fall out or get pulled when they are baby teeth.

For the next few months we were very careful with her teeth; not letting her bite into anything, nothing hard, and brushing fanatically. We went back for visits periodically over the last year, each time her teeth looking better.

Just this week the dentist told us her teeth looked so good that if he had not known what had happened that he would not have known she had a root fracture. Somehow her teeth fused back to the root. Her root is still  short and her teeth a little loose, but we are so thrilled to have this outcome. We have to thank Dr. Renzi for taking the time to leave an event to show up at midnight to help our child keep her teeth. Now days it is so hard to find a good doctor that is committed to medicine and really cares about what he does.  Because of this doctor...our little girl still has a beautiful smile.

Yes she was a brave little girl and did exactly what the doctor told her to do. Grandma love you London.
